As promised...

As promised, I took a portrait of one of my customers that I deliver to.

This is Bartha Williams.

As I entered her small, nicotine drenched home yesterday, she was holding a calendar in her lap. I noticed that it contained her artwork, but she was looking very disappointed with it. It turns out an error had been made with the name of her featured painting and I could see that she had quite viscously corrected the unfamiliar title with Biro to read 'Cornwall'.
She told me that during the War, her husband had been forced to flee to Cornwall and had relayed to her, fond memories of his time there. It wasn't until quite recently that she has seen a photograph of Cornwall, that she decided to create a painted rendition.

Bartha was a Psychologist for most of her life and only discovered her talent for painting in the past ten years.

She seemed delighted that I wanted to take her photograph, and sat very proudly before her table of paints and almost finished works. Upon review of her photograph her only comment was, 'Oh my, I look old', then insisted that she take my photograph in front of my favourite painting.
