I just found myself flicking through the pages of a book of well wishes for a trip I took to Europe two years ago, and found my favourite message from my good friend James:
"If you don't want to, you won't get lost.
Find what you want without knowing exactly what it is.
Lose concentration and enjoy it.
Try random methods of transport.
Mind the gap.
Know that a decent pair of jeans will take you anywhere.
Fun is inevitable, so is confusion, but you can mix the two.
Hell, why not.
Don't trust our hostesses.
Be the one red jumper in the cold and the swing and the rush and light and the air of London that really matters.
"
It feels so long ago.
