The space inbetween

It's been a while since I last visited and not a lot has changed in the interim...
Winter has happened, and I seem to have gone into some sort of anti-photographic hibernation.
But, now that Spring has sprung (oh how it has today!) I hope to start carrying my camera around again, snapping whatever and wherever I like without thinking about it's purpose.
Ahh...one spot of sunshine and I am injected with energy and life.

Agnes Cecile

I accidentally came across the enchanting work of this lovely lady, Silvia Pelissero (Agnes Cecile), on  a youtube trip whereby I began searching for 'how to do a beehive hairstyle' and then ended up watching 'portrait watercolour- speed painting'.

At only twenty years old, this very talented Italian has me lusting for not just one, but a collection of her prints. Thankfully, this is possible to do via her deviantart account here:

Also, here is this video of Silvia 'speed painting', pretty incredible.

A couple of ladies from Mum's work (hello, Maryann and Judy!) have been following my blog and have noticed my love for period portraits.

Very kindly, they have dug up some of their very own beautiful family portraits for my viewing (and sharing) pleasure. Both of them are around a century old, aren't they just gorgeous?!

Needlepoint Loafers

I just stumbled across these adorable loafers By Paige
They are all done in needlepoint and I want a pair of each of these- desperately!
These all retail at $195 a pair
Maybe I should limit myself to just one!

Cote Provence

I took a trip back to Cote Provence on Rathdowne Street today- what a splendid day for it!
I stumbled upon this store a couple of weeks ago and took a few hand held snaps and had been lusting to go back and photograph it properly since.

The owner of the store, Julie Barbey, was kind enough to allow me an hour or so to just wander around and shoot as I pleased. I would hardly walk two feet and have already found some other little delight that took my fancy- I could spend A LOT of money in this store!

All of the stock is sourced from France and is dated circa 1850-1960

The Rubens

On Tuesday night, Dave and I went to see THE RUBENS at Northcote Social Club.
I was in love the first time I heard 'Lay It Down' on Triple J - oh that bluesy sound!

Ruby Red

Yesterday I spent the day photographing this little rockstar below- Ruby.
She's the daughter of my high-school art teacher. I had been on Leisel's case for months wanting to photograph this delightful little soul and with a week and a half to spare before they make the big move to Tamworth, I took the opportunity.

Also featuring is Lesiel's 10 week old Louis, or as he is better know 'King Louis'.
So Adorable!

I played Barbies, made sandcastles and wore several tiaras- and I have no doubt I was the one who had the most fun.
